Forest of Avon is both the name of our tree-loving charity and the beautiful, sprawling landscape that encompasses the counties of Bristol City, Bath and North-East Somerset, South Gloucestershire and North Somerset.
Since 1992, we have been one of England’s 15 Community Forests, supporting local wildlife and people in a countrywide network. We work with our partners, landowners, local people and community groups to plant and nurture trees, ensuring they thrive into the future.
We also help people enjoy and benefit from our local trees and woodlands by running specialist Health and Wellbeing sessions for people with learning disabilities and mental health issues.
Funding For Tree Planting
Over its 30-year history, the Forest of Avon community has planted and maintained millions of trees. Thanks to the DEFRA-‘Nature for Climate’ backed ‘Trees for Climate’ programme, started in December 2020, we are now creating new woodlands at the fastest rate ever.
We can fund most types of tree planting projects and will also complete planning, design and planting paperwork.
