Community Forest Path

“The Community Forest Path has shown me so many new parts of a city that I have lived in for so long; it inspired me to look at the paths and countryside right on my doorstep.”

The Forest of Avon Community Forest Path is a 45-mile walking route that circles outer Bristol taking in the four unitary authorities of Bristol, B&NES, South Gloucestershire and North Somerset. Passing through urban and country areas alike, the route takes in gems such as the Brandy Bottom colliery near Pucklechurch, the pretty village of Pensford with its imposing 19th century viaduct and miles and miles of beautiful views, trees and woodlands.
The route is often tackled in short chunks but for the more adventurous, the challenging Green Man Ultra event uses the community forest route for their events!

Our volunteers help with maintaining parts of the trail and signage for the many landowners across whose land the path crosses.
