Our regular woodland-based sessions offer a safe space in a therapeutic natural environment. Participants are referred and supported by Bristol Community Rehabilitation Service.
The small group and experienced facilitators ensure that people feel safe and supported to try new things. Group members are supported to be physically active, and encouraged to practice self-care, gain social confidence, access peer support, build resilience, share skills/knowledge, and cook and share healthy food.
For people with long-term and complex mental health needs, access to green spaces can be challenging. Forest Friday provides opportunities for people to explore publicly-accessible green spaces as part of a supportive group.
Sessions build long-term nature-connection. There is a large and robust body of research which shows that strong sense of nature connectedness is associated with greater life satisfaction, happiness, resilience, emotional regulation, and lower anxiety.
