Volunteer Tree Planting – Lower Chew Forest

View all events

Help us to grow the Forest of Avon – We’re welcoming volunteers to help us plant trees, woodlands and hedgerows across the West of England!

You’ll be helping to plant trees at Lower Chew Forest, a stunning 170-hectare nature restoration project led by Avon Needs Trees and funded by Forest of Avon.

Nestled between Bristol and Bath, this site will soon be home to 100,000 new trees and shrubs, forming a vibrant mosaic of habitats – woodland, wood pasture, wetlands, hedgerows, and species-rich grassland.

All abilities welcome, tools, gloves and training provided. You will need to bring sturdy shoes, weather appropriate clothing and your lunch.

Visit our Eventbrite to secure your spot. Exact location, meeting point and parking information will be sent upon signing up.

Volunteers will need to organise their own transport to site. We encourage lift sharing where possible. Toilets are available on site.

Connecting with nature and spending time in green spaces has proven benefits to our mental wellbeing and physical health. Our volunteer days are the perfect way to enjoy the many benefits of spending time outdoors, while giving back to nature and feeling the satisfaction of helping your local area to become a little bit greener.
