Our fortnightly Woodland Wellbeing groups provide opportunities for people with dementia and their family carers to spend quality time together in the relaxing environment of a local woodland. We meet in small groups and go with the flow of what interests group-members, from cooking on the fire to trying art or crafts or simply listening to the birds and enjoying an outdoor cuppa.

A growing body of research looks specifically at the benefits of spending time in nature for people with dementia, including: improved mood and more consistent sleep patterns, improved physical mobility, walking on rough ground to help maintain balance and reduce falls, increased motivation, trying and learning new things, a decrease in agitation, and of course continuing to have fun with other people!
