DESCRIPTION:Join the Forest of Avon for a day of Winter fruit tree pruning and orchard care. \nJanine from the Forest of Avon \, will deliver training in Winter fruit tree pruning techniques on the young fruit trees in the community orchard at The Daisy Field Community Orchard. Attendees will be taught the key principles in fruit tree pruning\, and practical techniques in how to effectively prune apple and pear trees. \nThe day will consist of the training session in the morning and then an afternoon of practicing the techniques learnt under the supervision of Janine. All Health and Safety provision will be covered in safety briefing at the start of the session. DESCRIPTION:Join us to help increase tree cover in the heart of Bristol! You’ll be helping to plant trees around the grounds of Greenway Community Centre\, including a small woodland area that will expand onto Badock’s Wood nature reserve. A mix of native species will be planted to expand the habitat for wildlife in the area\, as well as a few fruit trees for community picking. \nAll tools will be provided\, including gloves. You will need to wear appropriate footwear with good grip and ankle support\, weather-appropriate clothing and bring your lunch. Wellies are recommended. DESCRIPTION:Learn techniques in Summer Pruning \nPlease sign up via our Eventbrite page. \nWe are running a programme of Orchard care workshops and volunteer days across community Orchards in Bristol\, Bath and South Gloucester. We aim to train local communities in practical orchard management. \nFor this session our Project Officer Janine\, will deliver a training workshop and practical session in orchard maintenance. We will be carrying out some much needed repairs on the tree stakes and tree ties and carrying weeding and mulching tasks around the trees. \nAll Health and Safety provisions will be covered in the safety briefing at the start of the session. \nNo skills or expertise required\, all training\, tools and PPE are provided.

DESCRIPTION:This event has been cancelled. \nWe need help planting trees to create the native\, broadleaved woodlands of the future. \nAs part of our Trees for Climate fund\, we will be planting throughout the winter across Bristol\, Bath\, North East Somerset and South Glos. \nAt this project we will be planting 260m of hedge\, and eight wood pasture trees\, to benefit to wildlife and develop habitat connectivity. \nAll abilities welcome\, tools\, gloves and training provided. You will need to bring sturdy shoes\, weather appropriate clothing and your lunch. \nPlease sign up via our Eventbrite page. \nExact location\, meeting point and parking information will be sent upon signing up – please do not refer to Eventbrite map for directions. Volunteers will need to organise their own transport to site. We encourage lift sharing where possible. Toilets are available on site. \nConnecting with nature and spending time in green spaces has proven benefits to our mental wellbeing and physical health.
